As a Trustee of Mangatawa Papamoa Blks from 2006 to 2019, a passion project for me was to build bespoke housing for our Kaumatua.

Kaumatua were involved in the site design and design of the homes. Twelve, 2 bedroom homes nestled against Mangatawa maunga.  These homes are designed for accessibility and aging in place.  A second bedroom provides space for whanau support or a caregiver and is walking distance to the Marae and community.

It is my firm belief that warm, dry, affordable housing within a supportive community adds years of living back to our people.
